BREEDING
At Nejdy Kuhailan Stud, breeding begins with type, pedigree and function. We breed on a small scale and select for the classic Polish Kuhailan: a strong body, sound structure, endurance, intelligence, trainability and a calm, people-oriented temperament. Our aim is not to follow fashion or produce numbers. It is to make deliberate breeding decisions that protect valuable mare families and preserve the qualities for which the Kuhailan has been respected for generations. Every mating is guided by quality, long-term continuity and respect for the bloodlines on which the stud was built.

HERITAGE
Our story began in 1978, when Zygmunt Tobiasz first met the Arabian horse breeder Zygmunt Braur and discovered the place then known as the "Kuhailan Oasis". Mares such as Murat Hanum, Madrasah Kufi and Megara represented an ideal of Kuhailan beauty and the strong, distinctly nomadic type that inspired a lifelong commitment to these horses. Through many visits, Braur's breeding philosophy became the foundation of our own direction. It was rooted in the older Polish tradition shaped by breeders, travellers and explorers such as Seweryn Waclaw Rzewuski, Juliusz Dzieduszycki, the Sanguszko family, Bogdan Zietarski and Carl Raswan. They accepted great risk and expense to bring Arabian horses directly from the heart of Arabia and preserve their bloodlines in Poland. We regard this legacy not only as history, but as a responsibility passed to the next generation.

THE KUHAILAN TYPE
Our expertise is built on decades of practical experience with Purebred Arabian horses and a clear understanding of the traditional Polish Kuhailan type. We focus on breeding, training and evaluating horses not only by appearance, but also by function. Strength, balance, endurance, intelligence, trainability and a friendly temperament are essential qualities in our programme. This approach allows us to preserve the identity of the Kuhailan while preparing horses for endurance sport, everyday work and reliable partnership with people.

CHAMPIONSHIPS
Our horses have represented the stud in national and international endurance sport, including the FEI Endurance World Championships and the FEI Endurance European Championships. Three Polish Champion titles reflect years of preparation, responsible conditioning and trust between horse and rider. Results matter, but they are not the whole purpose. Competition is also a practical test of soundness, stamina, recovery, temperament and willingness to work. These are the functional qualities that our breeding and training programmes aim to preserve.
THE STUD
Nejdy Kuhailan Stud is a small Polish Purebred Arabian breeding programme built around historic Kuhailan families. It continues the breeding direction established by Zygmunt Braur in Dobrow and carries it forward through a new generation. We choose quality over quantity and give every horse the time, care and training needed to develop naturally. The stud combines breeding, sport, education and direct contact with Arabian horses while remaining firmly rooted in the Polish Kuhailan tradition.
FOUNDATION MARES
The foundation of Nejdy Kuhailan Stud was formed in the early 1990s. The first key mare was Mu-Gaza from Zygmunt Braur's stud and the historic Gazella family. She was followed by Sedanka from PSK Kurozweki, representing the Mlecha family, and by a representative of the Sahara family, a granddaughter of Bask with Polish Arabian origins, acquired in the Netherlands. Together, these mares established the Gazella, Mlecha and Sahara foundations within our stud. Their descendants remain central to our effort to preserve the old Polish Kuhailan type and continue the breeding legacy that began at the Kuhailan Oasis.

TRAINING & SPORT
Training at Nejdy Kuhailan Stud is based on patience, clarity and gradual physical development. We prepare horses for endurance, sport and reliable work outside the arena without separating performance from welfare. Our approach develops stamina, balance, confidence and cooperation. A well-trained Arabian should remain willing, responsive and mentally settled, whether competing, working on the track or carrying a rider on the trail. Sport allows us to evaluate the functional qualities that matter in breeding and to prove that the traditional Kuhailan is not only beautiful, but capable, durable and dependable.

HORSE TRAILS
Our horse trails offer a direct way to experience the Arabian horse beyond the stable and competition arena. Guided rides combine nature, the local landscape and the cultural history of Polish Arabian breeding. Routes and horses are matched to the rider's experience, with safety and horse welfare taking priority. The aim is not simply to offer a ride, but to create a calm and memorable encounter with the intelligence, endurance and character of the Kuhailan.

EVENTS AT KUHAILAN
Nejdy Kuhailan Stud provides a distinctive setting for equestrian, cultural and private events. Our concept brings together Arabian horses, local heritage, nature and carefully planned hospitality. Events can include stud presentations, breeding and heritage talks, photography sessions, guided horse experiences and small private gatherings. Each event is shaped around the character of the place rather than a standard venue formula.
